This film was hilarious with a kind of dark twist. Very reminiscent of the classic nz show "the tribe". nice little chase scene with some great shots. keep up the great work!

The story was a little hard to follow mostly due to the sound being a bit quiet. generally you want to get the microphone as close to the speaking as possible but that can be really difficult if your only option is the in-built mic in the camera so i totally understand the difficulty there. The performances by both girls however were the standouts of the heat! both very natural and believable infront of the camera. great job guys cant wait to see what you come back with next year.

This film to me felt a bit like you reeeaaalllyyy wanted to do a "one room" film. However for that to work you really need a very compelling story, very compelling characters and the story needs to reveal itself piece by piece rather than all at once otherwise the audience is left waiting for something to happen for two thirds of the film. The set design for the film was great and informed the character and what his mission was. This is the type of film that makes for a great learning curve. cant wait to see what you come back with next year.

This film was one of may favourites of the night. One takes are notoriously hard. especially ones that move from room to room and switch from character to character but you guys pulled it off exceptionally well. the sound was the only real let down and i kinda wish the little scene at the start could have been part of the one take.great performances aswell. the laughter thrown in with the music was also very creepy just wish it could have somehow tied in with the killers character.

This is a film that at first i thought was too predicable but i was one over at the end just by how well executed the final scene was. the middle of the film could have done with a bit more fleshing out to get the audience invested in wanting the two characters to be together. Great over all effort though.

I quite enjoyed this film although not as much as their previous years work. The jokes were great and the edit suite turned control room was great z grade production design. It felt a bit like you had the set/miniatures ready to go beforehand then planned to apply whatever genre you got to fit thus making gross out quite a challenge for a sci fi set. the split screen was used mostly really well however i felt my attention was being swapped side to side a bit too much which had me being a little lost as to where i was meant to be looking.in saying that though ultra was super hard this year. also you get an extra star for lego/ live action miniatures

Ahh the old time loop plot. This film was easy enough to follow which is something many time travel films struggle to do. This is the type of film i think many teams make in their first couple of years in the comp and is a great stepping off point where you can take the experience from this year and make a bigger better film next year.

This is probably my favourite film I love loops have produced. Great animation as always, great voice acting and all the jokes landed. A much more stream lined film than previous years so for me this was my favourite of the heat.

the two leads had great chemistry in some scenes but then was undermined in others as the tone came off a bit jokey. which in 2018 :"its funny cause its gay" doesn't really fly. but if the intention was for it to be a forbidden love then it was a good effort.and got some great audience reactions,

Great locations and well shot. wasn't too sure where the story was going in some parts but overall a good film. also you had a helicopter so that's pretty awesome.

a great use of tension in this film. could very easily have dragged on but you ended scenes right at the right moment. ultimately a simple idea told very well and a good performance from the lead. keep up the good work!

i got half way through this film and thought "the best and funniest possible end to this film would be if he grabs the shit out of the toilet and shoves it in the guys face"....so glad you were on the same page i had such a big fist pump moment at that. only issue would be it got a bit slow toward the end after the second dunk but that's being very picky. well done again guys i'm sure you will be in the finals.

musicals are always a tricky genre to navigate. this one was a bit hit and miss (i know mike said it already but i couldn't think of a better way of putting it) a lot of the gags were great and everyone looked like they were having a good time. loved everything about the backseat song..you get an extra star just for that lens flare.

Great performances. i pretty much agree with what mike said about the choices and consequences. also there were some sync issues with the dialogue but that happens to every team at some point. also great use of location.

I liked the over all message of the film. great performance from the lead actor and awesome job on the costuming and make up. a few issues with cutting between camera angles and getting lost as to who was where but it did add to the confusion the boy was feeling....also made me hungry for shapes.

This one looked like you had a great time making it. some good dead pan performances. a bit predictable but still had a good laugh. the prostitute gag could still have worked if she had had a female voice not sure if that joke goes over so well in 2018. but over all it was a good time.

Loved the creativity in this one. from the use of slugs as naked snails to the shallow depth of field car driving "effect" there were so many good ideas in this film. auido was a little scratchy in places and the tragic love story didn't add too much but the over all film was a great laugh.

Completely disagree with mike (its ok we know each other) this film was the stand out of the night for me. the more i think about it the better it gets. my favorite aspect was the fact that the film cut short unexpectedly adding to the joke of how over the top yet pointless the heist was. so many teams insist on needlessly using the full 5 minute runtime. the small tyre to the face fall stunt was awesome and the comedic timing of the crash zooms was right on point. well done guys!

I really liked the use of quick cutting between all the crazy time jumps. This was definitely where stock footage can be used for proper effect.in my opinion the idea could have been told in about 1 minute less but still a solid effort at telling a story without dialogue.

I really liked the message of this film. and the effects were great. hope you guys come back next year, id love to see what you come up with.

not a super clear plot but you looked like you were having fun! nice to see you put some thought into your sound design aswell.

You guys looked like you had a heap of fun making this. I was a bit jealous watching the kid driving the digger...ive always wanted to drive a digger. not sure if having a guy williams cameo helped or hindered the film. but everyone one else was great. cant wait to see what you do next year.

I loved that you guys went for a comedic sci/fi style this year. was a genuinely funny film with a clear message. it made me wish that state sanctioned propaganda had been chosen as a genre this year. (i think it lost out to christmas movie)

This one looked like a heap of fun to make. loved the make up job. that dude looked genuinely sick.

A great looking film with some slick editing. a few story points were lost on me (like they guy getting hit by a car in the background) but the end gag was a nice touch. and the guy with the swoard through him looked awesome.

A great film to say the least. the story was told clearly and i love it when teams try to tackle a serious subject. hopefully you guys had a good time making this and will be back next year!

Very good art direction. and a great performance from the actress and the voice actor (very creepy) possibly could have got the same idea out in a shorter space of time but the story was well executed.

Perhaps not a film that requires much deep thought. but my stomach did hurt from laughing so hard. very well animated to great comedic affect.

This film was such a great feel good story. It had some great laughs and the story was well told. loved the inclusion of the improvised discussion.

I can never get over how much work goes into an animated film like this. or how each year "I love Loops" seem to be able to come up with such insane yet thoughtful story ideas. in parts the constraints of getting an animated film in on time did come through a bit but over all it was a wonderful little short worth a watch.

When this Film started I had a flash back to an interview i saw with Ant Timpson saying he wanted to see more "serious" films this year. so i have no idea why he made everyone try and incorporate the wilhelm scream into their films as its an inherently comical scream.
I think over all the film was a great attempt to tell a serious story through song. with some unintended laughs around the Wilhelm scream.

Dat Skid Ya'll

Also this whole film was amazing. super creative and super funny. hope it makes it to the final as it deserves to be there on concept alone...and that skid

I loved this film. It was hands down the most punk thing I've seen for a while. It was a pretty brave film to make but you did it anyway because punk! Well done and sorry to hear about your stuff.

The Puppet films are on fire this year and this one was no exception. loved the dialogue and the look. hopefully it makes it to the finals!

I loved this film. Comedic timing was all there and it was a simple story very well executed.

I generally Hate art wank......but you kept it short and to the point which is the downfall of so many 48hour films. Well done cant wait for the sequel

loved the film. really strong idea and very well executed.awesome camera skills aswel easily the best film from heat 1.hope to see you in the finals

funniest movie of the night for me. loved the idea and the comic timing
