The Time Travel Movie

I love time travel movies, and this was a very clever take on the genre indeed. It was like Ground Hog Day was a horror movie, and Punxsutawney Phil was waiting in the kitchen with a cleaver. I found myself hoping that one of the two characters WAS waiting in the kitchen with a cleaver, after an eternity of being driven mad by the screams of the other, but it was not to be.

But this was one of my favourite movies of the evening. Thank you for the pleasure of watching it!

Seemed like a Groundhog Day concept of stopping a flatmate getting murdered with greater opportunity at every wakeup, but the team then made a valiant effort to try and splice up the seemingly straightforward loop like TRIANGLE did so effectively all those years ago. I hate to be a spoiler but the main problem is that what I've described effectively is almost the whole film. You had some great angles and sound effects were timed very nicely but at other times the lighting was terribly grainy or non-existent which took me out of my suspension of disbelief. I just wish there was more meat to the story.

A time travel groundhog day with the character aware they are in the loop. The film was dark and grainy and had a consistent style that suited the horror movie nature of the story. The low light did mean some focus issues but was a brave move and worth trying. It is tricky not to get repetitive with repeating action and I think less wake up cycles or more efficient editing may have sped up the pace a bit. But it was a great watch, played well at the heat and had a clear visual style.
