What a wonderful idea. I loved the dialogue between Harper 'Adam' and God, and the whole journey through 'restarting the earth.' Cinematography was BEAUTIFUL. Which is why it's such a pity it wasn't edited well. Half of it was voiceovered well, but the other half you could hardly hear what Harper was saying. The bus stop encounter was a little cringey, and you could sometimes hear people talking in the background. So, this could have been a beautiful film if you had more time.
Clever dialogue and great delievery from the actors made this film stand out to me. The start had some beautiful cinematography and really nice moments with the lead actor. There were a lot of technical problems, but all couldve been easily corrected with a bit more time. There were a few awkward moments once 'Eve' was introduced, the main actor seemed to be a lot more comfortable on screen. The whole idea was a great twist for the genre.
Good idea but the editing was terrible. filmed poorly and the actor seemed uncomfortable. Also there were two people left on earth so learn your genre.
Good film, well shot with great cinematography and an awesome storyline.
despite editing issues this was a great film.
Not sure what happened with editing? Perhaps ran out of time? Otherwise one of my favourites. Great dialogue!
First of all great concept. It was an intelligent take on the genre and I enjoyed some of the humour. Great location as well. My issue however was with the audio levels. At times I couldn't hear the dialogue at all. My other issue was that I thought the girl at the bus stop was a weak way to introduce that character. In defence of this film from a previous rebiew though is that even though the genre was 'last man on earth' almost every film like this has a character that the 'last man on earth' meets otherwise we have a really boring film so I think that critique is really nit picky and doesn't really apply. Solid effort guys. Fix your audio and figure out a better way to introduce characters and you would have had an amazing film
A very good concept that unfortunately was not delivered properly and the actors were not the right choice for the roles. Very poor editing and camera work reallydistracted from what could been great.
A over done film that came across rushed. Needed to stick to genre a little better and the editing and acting wasn't the best,
Poor editing,acting and overall story.
Great film guys, loved the shots, loved the storyline, could have been an awesome film if you had more time. Would love to see it again with the whole thing properly done.
I Did Not Get To See This Film In Person, But What I Saw From My Friends Video Footage, This Film Was Gorgeous. I Loved The Shots But It Was A Little Odd When Half The Voice Over Wasn't There. I Would Love To See This Film Again With Better Editing And All Voice Over. Definitely Had An Impressive Professional Feel To It.
I wonder whether the reviews have been a bit less harsh on this film because of the obvious editing issues throughout? Overall, it was still a solid film and a great concept, but would have been better given more time to make it.
What I liked: Nicely shot, good sound for the most part, cool story idea, the relationship between Adam/Harper and God was funny to watch. (thought the trip to the zoo was very funny)
What to work on for next year: Do a work flow test or two, I can only assume you were pushed for time during the edit (we could hear the director?) over all the whole film could have also been edited shorter.
A teen wakes up naked in the woods. As he works his way out he hears the voice of God who explains he has reset the earth and the teen is the new Adam.
This was a good take on the genre with some clever camera work during his naked sequence. Nice touches of humour throughout too. The audio was poor though with the sound often dropping out. The dialogue was lame at times and there was far too much walking around in the story. The biggest crime was the amount of direction heard - oh noes! Unforgivable!
See you next year!
