I thought this film had fantastic production values, and it was a simple idea very well executed. Well done guys!
Great concept, good acting and script. Thoroughly enjoyed, got my vote!
This one room movie that explores the relationship between super heroes and villains when things don't go quite how they happen in the comic books took the genre of One-Room Movie and spiced it up well with the super hero genre.
A great example of shooting within limitations, this movie was also credited as to being shot entirely on an iPhone4 - which worked very well for the concept (in fact full body camcorder with a narrower field of view would have probably impeded this team.)
Apart from straying into the one territory I really dislike in NZ films (our short films seemingly inadvertently turn into road safety commercials far too often) this hit all the right spots. A solid four and definite contender for best of Auckland heat 2.
A great one-room-film. Loved what they produced with being so limited to space - I would have picked a huge room ;)
The superhero/villain aspect added to the film certainly made it an interesting watch.
Quirky little superhero gem with touches of Stephen Merchant/Ricky Gervais awkwardness. Nice to see the serious subjects of euthanasia and arson tackled in a comedic way.
Also nicely shot, and good effort on costuming and makeup. Always love to see black makeup around the eyes under a black superhero mask, anything less is not trying hard enough.
a great little shot, the accompanying soundtrack was particularly awesome. excellent dribbling and rca cables around the wrist, genius.
The Final Battle left me wanting more! Untrained actors did a splendid job. I found the lighting, scene clarity and steady camera-work on this film faultless!
The conveying of curiosity, boredom, resignation and sheer terror by using just one’s eyes can’t be easy! The script was faultless. Every word was clearly spoken and well delivered!
The newspaper and tapping finger was a great touch. I loved the fact that a matchbox was not rattled at the end. This group did not take any short cuts and it showed. I am keen to see their entry next year. Full score from me!
I liked this movie. The actors did a really good job of being convincing. The camera work and editing was done well, and sound was not an issue. Helped I suppose by being able to do it all in one room. Good all round short movie.
Excellent use of the one room in this movie although it took me a while to realise it was also superhero, just thought the visitor was wearing a mask for no real reason until well into the dialogue.
Dr Super Kaos (Bobby Young) was a super villain but after a terrible accident is left bed ridden.
Another serious entry and it was nice, simple, solid.
A simple idea, exquisitely executed. Everything about this little treasure was outstanding. The production (shot with an Iphone 4, brilliant) the lighting, sound and particularly the acting were all superb. Absolutely loved it, I give it five stars.
I watched this film and was truely hoping that there would be some epic action or twist. I was kind of dissapointed in all honesty when nothing much happened. We learned his back story and how he was in an drunk driving accident and paralyzed. I didn't like how it turned into a anti-drinking campaign towards the end. However. I did enjoy the cinematography and applaud how only a Iphone 4 was used to film it. Overall it was better than most but not as exciting as I was anticipating
I enjoyed it, especially the sound track/sound effects. It is amazing what you can do a phone these days.
Well executed. The simplicity of the idea worked well. Good acting.
