This was the funniest film in the heat, it was well done and sweet. It wasn't trying to be something it wasn't just what it was, and what it was was great

[SCHOOLS] [DQ'd]

A very young man is interrupted from his cat video watching by a text confirming an internet dating request. He gets himself ready and has a real ball on the date. It's love at first sight!

This had great touches of humour, a couple of well constructed montages and the team did a great job with the genre - I imagine Rom-com wouldn't have been your first choice! Technically some improvements can be made for next year. Direction can be heard at the start of one scene, there's a bit of ADRing gone wrong and some crazy edits. Likewise you need to have a think about your locations: eg why was he getting ready for a date at school? Why was the date at school?

The highlight of this film was the acting of the lead. Crazy, cool eyes and just an obviously energetic character. Reminded me onscreen of a young Hamish Parkinson. Dude, I'd love to cast you in a film of mine.

A cool idea and popular with the audience but ultimately DQ'd for YouTube video infringement.

My favourite film of the night. This film was comedic gold and had the audience laughing at every possible moment. The acting was believable, and the story was really good which makes me sad you were disqualified as I'm sure you would have carved up in the audience favourites. Good use of shots, clever ideas with the reverse.

Really excited to see what this team comes up in the years to come.

Funny parody of every rom com movie. Editing was a bit off, But would be easy to fix if you had more time. Camerawork was a bit shaky, I'm guessing you didn't have a tripod?
Apart from that, Funniest film in the heat.

Wow!!! Great film!! Best in the heat by far. It's a shame it got DQ cause it would have done great. The acting was great, editing good and very good idea to use the ball as they did! I cant wait to see what this team can do next year because there is things to work on but this is a film that will be hard to top.

The funniest film of the heat. The young actor did a great job and is one to watch for the future.

Just brilliant. Production quality was endearingly 'home-made', plot was ingenious and the ending had me in tears. Almost.

Loved this film so much. An amazing storyline and an amazing actor, despite not having the best equipment, you definitely made an amazing short film and I would've voted for yours had it not been disqualified. Looking forward to seeing your films again in the coming years!

Some of what I enjoyed:

Great close-up of the eyes searching all over. Unsettling.
Excellent use of the prop/ball.
Loved the scene of Morgan getting ready for his dates. Great bit.
Nice use of reversing the footage to make the ball jump onto the bench.
Dramatic ending.

This was a super fun film and I hope you guys stick with it in the future!
