Interesting film, there were some clever shots in here. I particularly liked the shot in the bathroom where (i may get this a little wrong) the camera goes behind the character and when it reaches the other side the room is darker. Was a good transition to another side of their persona. I also liked the shot of vic running in the dark. The white shirt in the black gave a very interesting effect. Also the memories, which looked like distorted tv shots, were very nice.

Good use of music to create atmosphere.

I liked the Creepy vibe that came through with the jump cuts, the reversed time and the music.

I was wondering who was the killer and why Vic was so scared until the use of good camera techniques where Vic was shown to be crazy (the killer) and delusional. Was a good transition to another side of Vic's life. One scene on the loud side but the rest of the music worked well at creating an atmosphere
Overall good film with good camera techniques, acting with robust plot.
Good effort!

Awesome film, loved the creepy-ness added by the music. Some cool shots when Vic is busted by the military and when he's running.

This is an amazing film, I love the mood and intensity. The way COMMIT used their genre and line of dialogue worked really well.
Also the lighting in that first scene (just wow). An Epic action scene including car.

I feel this film attempted a very unique and interesting plot. It almost fully lived up to it's ambitions. The camera angles and film techniques really accentuated the films darker and creepy nature. The music choice was excellent in my opinion. With highs and lows of the film matching up perfectly to what was happening with the audio. I feel some shots where a lot better than others,The time lapse and running scene was a great touch. but on the hole really enjoyed this feel and how well the story came across despite lack of dialogue. Should be very proud. But as there is time limit on movie and only limited amount of time this deserves high scores.

Great Film

I love the plot twist and i think you guys really pulled off the Non Dialogue. Your music fits it really well and the mash up of different scenes really sets the mood.

I hope you guys do well, you and your movie deserves it!

I really liked the use of jump cuts between the remembering sequences and very clever about the subtle references you put into it. Like the book cover and how you called the girl sarah "McMurphy" Well done.

Must say it is a brilliant short movie, and doing without dialogue!!! really good!! was truly impressed, would like to see what can be done with a proper budget and time! the smooth transitions between scenes were an impressive aspect. The story line made sense and was easy to fellow. Only criticism was it was only 7 mins, but i guess there isnt much they can do about that since the competition rules state that i can not be longer than 7 mins!!!! Favorite scene was the action packed driving one.haha

good film. good people. what more can i say.

Hope to see some more next year

Wow. When I saw the non-dialogue description, I prepared myself for some awkward french miming... but not the case! Really enjoyed, guys. Good camera techniques. Nice driving.

9

Nice film, I thought the story was good and the shots were well done
good luck guys!

This was a really good short movie with lots of great ambience created through the use of music and very clever camera shots. I especially liked the car scene in the dark with the rain falling and the dead body was so realistic!! It kept you contantly on the edge of your seat in anticipation! Well done guys! A very exciting and thriller type movie!

I seriously enjoyed the creepy nature of this film. What a contrast to the intro! (I must admit I did giggle at the guy in the banana suit). the soundtrack was well chosen and really added to the overall tone. The editing that took place when we realised Vic was the killer was excellent! The writing backwards was a nice touch. Top marks on the time lapse - it was a great way to show the insomnia. Good acting Vic! On the whole a interesting storyline that was well executed. Only negative was the scene that's soundtrack was slightly too loud.

Really enjoyed the plot and felt that it was well executed especially with the lack of dialogue. The music and lighting did a fantastic job of portraying the mood and explaining what was going on where the actions of the character did not. All up a great concept and well developed with camera angles and lighting. Actors did a great job as well :)

One word is all that's needed to describe it. AMAZING :D :D :D

10

well what can I say, brilliant! fantastico! the handsome young man and that dazzling gorgeous young lady really acted at a high quality, not to mention the special effects and the transitions between scenes!!! Congratulations to the make up people for making the chick look like she had been suffocated, and for making the insomniac look like a insomniac/ stoner. Hope you guys do well!!!

the non-dialogue really helped in making this film more believable. I got really sucked in. I liked the unique use of the line "did you hear that?" its repetition through out the film and its symbolism was an interesting concept. well done.

I feel that your film was of very good make, but there were a few strange facials in there.

Also, very nice camera work and great locations. :D

Okay, so this could have been better, but given the genre and the required elements, it was really cool. The soundtrack was a bit loud in some parts, but for a first entry, that was pretty awesome. Also: I know it doesn't count in the film, but dude. That intro. Favourite intro.

Oh, and the screaming mouth motif was creepy, well done!

This scared the crap out of me when I went to get some food in the middle of the night!

Well thought out camera techniques, hard work and great props. Lovely craft and I really felt those creepy vibes. A film made by a wonderful group of people who have put their remarkable ideas together to create an exciting, thought-provoking, end result.

Your evident hard work will pay off, well done team, and good luck!

The film was okay.

The vote rigging in here is atrocious though. Every single account has only posted 1 review. And all the accounts were made 10 minutes after each other one after the other.

Wow.

Vote spamming: Its obvious, and it spoils and undermines the hard work the team actually put in. Sorry to the team.

Hey guys really cool film I'm not gonna go on about camera angles (because I don't know shit), so I'll talk about story.
The story was really cool and the film had a really good atmosphere, I think keeping the film with very little characters was good as it didn't create much confusion. Although in criticism (there should always be criticism) the story was kinda cliche, it was a bit too predictable (what a twist) but harrison was an awesome insomniac. #POLO

oh and the vote spamming is dumb #selfhighfives

thought it was very well done. there was a great twist in it where the killer is vic. liked the "did you hear that?" scene when he clicks that he killed her. thought it was a very solid effort by the COMMIT crew!!!

This film was a well done film in what could have been a very difficult genre. There were a few technical issues, particularly with sound levels (seems to be a common problem this year), and I didn't quite feel the passage of time you would expect from when Vic arrived at the location until the police/army whoever showed up. It was an enjoyable film though.

I would have awarded you 6 stars, but there is so obviously vote spamming going on here, I had to award only 1 star to get some balance. Considering this heat was probably the smallest attendance of the Hamilton heats, and the sheer volume of comments, makes it pretty obvious there is some fake comments here.

Also on the vote spamming, I don't quite get the point of it. It has zero impact on the judging and finalists, and audience favourites are voted on the night, so all it does is mean legitimate reviews get lost in the noise, which sucks for any members of the team looking for advice on how to improve.

I completely with Brendan, disappointed by the vote spamming. I change my rating. Still a decent movie though.

Brendan, the votes aren't counted as extra stars. One vote per person, but as many reviews as you like. Try counting the people, and the posts.
